The Arena is a location and gameplay mechanic in Goddess of Victory: Nikke, acting as the game's player vs player (PvP) combat mode. It is unlocked after clearing Stage 3-16 of the campaign on normal mode.
Lore[]
In pursuit of greater heights of entertainment and beauty, Mustang arranged for the Arena, a place where Nikkes fight against one another in squad-based shootouts. As this is intended to be entertainment over bloodsport, all Nikke munitions are replaced with non-lethal rounds, and top-level medics are kept on constant standby.
Gameplay[]
Arena battles are performed entirely on autobattle mode. The player has no input in when Nikkes attack, take cover, or use skills. Beyond that, gameplay is largely the same as that of the battles in the campaign, albeit rendered in a truncated format with SD character models.
Every day, players are given a random lineup of at least 3 opponents. This lineup can be refreshed with no cooldown or limit. In the events that an arena server does not contain enough players, bots will be used to fill the remainder.
Each player is given 3 free attacks per day, which can be increased to 5 from Infrastructure Core upgrades at the Outpost. After that, Arena Chips can be purchased for more attacks at a rate of 100 Gems per Chip.
Arena itself is split into three modes.
Rookie Arena[]
The standard mode unlocked as soon as Arena is. Players form one attack squad and one defense squad before fighting other players. Victory will earn points that ascend players up the rankings, while defeat will lose them.
Rookie Arena season lasts for 14 days, with 1 day being a "closed" day for score tallies. Once the season ends, players are awarded Arena Vouchers based on their ranking, which can be exchanged for prizes in the shop.
SP Arena[]
Available after Stage 11-13N of the campaign. Players form three squads of attackers and defenders, which will clash against the opponent's teams sequentially in a best-of-three match.
Instead of a point-based system with numeric rankings, SP Arena only allows players to attack those of a higher league. Leagues are divided into Beginner, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Challenger, with non-Beginners subdivided into numerical tiers. Victory will allow the attacker to steal their opponent's rank. Every hour, the SP Arena will generate Vouchers and points for players based on their rank.
SP Arena season also lasts 14 days, albeit on a different timing than Rookie Arena. At the end of the season, players are awarded Gems based on their ranking.
Champion Arena[]
Released with the True Flavor update. An elite Arena only available to those who rank 4th or higher in their server of the SP Arena. Players must also have at least 25 Nikkes in their roster and achieved level 200 in the Synchro Device.
The top players are arranged to face each other in a tournament bracket style. The schedule of the Champion's Arena will be split between the League, Promotion Tournament, and Champions’ Duel segments.
Champion's Arena battles occur in a 5-round match format. Nikkes are set to level 400 during battle. Competitors will be rewarded based on ranking. If two players achieve the same ranking, priority is given to the player who achieved that rank first.
A player who is in a Union can earn rewards for their Union based on their Champion Arena results. If two players in the same Union qualify, then rewards will be based on whichever player has the higher ranking.
During Promotion Tournament and Champions' Duel, nonparticipant players can use the Cheer system to gamble Credits on the outcomes of battles, winning more Credits based on Cheer cost if they predict correctly.
