• Elegg's favorite game BOOM is an obvious reference to the 1993 first-person shooter game turned franchise Doom. The game's title art is even an homage to Doom's and her gun is a homage to the BFG. The game's art used in Booms Day's splash art and Elegg's tap animation is a reference to Doom (2016)'s cover art.
  • Her hobby of installing BOOM on any device she can is a reference to how people have installed the original Doom onto many non-console devices. Examples include calculators, printers, ATMs, pianos, cars, pregnancy tests, and many others.
• The name of Elegg's gun, "Boomstick," is a nod to the Ash Williams gun from the Evil Dead franchise. Though in that series, Boomstick is a shotgun, not a machine gun.
• Elegg is the first SSR Missilis Nikke who uses a machine gun.
